Alberta Sweeps Canadian Nationals

[Calgary] Players from the host city and province have swept Canada’s first annual National Pickleball Championships.

Racquet Network pickleball coach Kevin Doucet medaled in three different events while his mixed doubles partner, Patti MacPhee, took home titles in two events.

Only one non-Alberta player — Chuck Lefaive — appears on the list of pickleball champions for 2011; he was partnered with Brent Johner in the Wooden Racquet Classic consolation event which was held just before the finals on Sunday afternoon.

Mixed Doubles Champions 2011 – Patti MacPhee (AB) and Kevin Doucet (AB)
Women’s Doubles Champions 2011 – Elaine Foulon (AB) and Val Calon (AB)
Men’s Doubles Champions 2011 – Kevin Doucet (AB) and Colby Cavanagh (AB)
Wooden Racquet Classic Champions 2011 – Chuck Lefaive (BC) and Brent Johner (AB)

All players and volunteers went home with prizes and medals valued at over $1500.00.
